Ali turns 5!

She's now 5 going on 14. I often think of what a wonderful baby she was. She was so happy, she always entertained herself and she had a smile for everyone. She rarely cried- and she slept all the time. Five years later and the exact opposite has occured. She's rarely happy, and when she is it's cause she's gotten her own way. She smiles at everyone still, but as soon as they turn their back she sticks out her tongue. She's not at all easily entertained, there is ALWAYS a mess involved and she is always crying. Most of the time it's the spoiled cry-not one I handle well at all.

BUT, I love her! And I always will- even when things get harder, even when she really is a teenager... she's my girl, and an adorable one at that. And what a great bike-rider! She gave up on the training wheels a long time ago, so when we brought the bike home, Jon just took them off. He forgot to get rid of them though, and he had asked me to wait to give it to her till after he got home that night. So that morning when we went to get in the car to go to school- Ali saw the two little detached training wheels on the floor of the garage. She knew right then that they belonged to her new bike, and it took some convincing that they didn't.

The only other thing Ali even asked for was to get her ears pierced. After pre-school I took her to see Burke at Mountain West, and he was nice enough to do it for me, even though he almost made me do it myself. It was so funny, I thought Ali would cry a little, but not a bit. She actually started giggling, and hasn't complained about them hurting since. She did change her mind last night though and tried to get me to take them out, but I wouldn't, and she ended up crying herself to sleep. Yes, it too was the spoiled cry.

I got her a few other things, a Barbie for the bathtub and some other little things, but was proud of myself for not going overboard like I usually do. I did get her a little thing of lip glosses...the worst idea EVER! You can see from the picture that the "lip" in lip gloss doesn't apply to Ali. She wanted it everywhere. I don't know if I will ever get it out of her hair.

About the funniest thing I saw all day though, was the cute neighbor boy playing outside on his little tricycle. Check out little Cooper- he fit in so cute with all the other princesses. He wore the Snow White dress all day, and to boy it up a bit (?) he wore a spiderman costume on his head too! What a funny kid! But great entertainment none the less!

Happy Birthday Ali! The lip gloss should eventually wear out of her hair if it is like vaseline. She is so cute! 5 is a fun age, except they seem to grow up to much.
