When I was a kid, there was always a rule that we weren't allowed to play with our friends on Sunday. I hated it, but I knew it was what I was supposed to do. So, I've made the same rule with my family, and I've learned that it couldn't have been very easy for my parents either! We don't go to church till 1pm, and usually the mornings are not hard to keep the kids busy, but when we get home from church, they are always ready to play, and the kids in the neighborhood are at the ready, waiting for us to pile out of the car!
Ali wanted to play with Rylee so badly today, the only thing I could do to convince her otherwise was to tell her she could help me make cookies. I knew what I was getting myself into, but decided to do it just the same. I really do enjoy baking- not an enthusiastic cook, but I love to bake. We had fun. It's always more work when the kids are involved, but they seemed to enjoy themselves, I even heard such phrases as "your the best mom in the whole world!" It totally makes my day! We delivered cookies to the neighbors and saved some for more deliveries tomorrow!

You are the best mom in the whole world. We also don't let our kids play with friends on Sundays. Sometimes it is so hard, but I think it will be worth it in the long run. It makes us do things together as a family. Those fun family times are what your kids will remember.

How fun! Sundays are so hard...our church is at 9 so I have to keep them occupied ALL afternoon...I will have to do some baking with them now that it is getting cold outside!

I know I wasn't home all weekend but maybe I could get my cookies now??? Thanks for saving my kids this morning, sorry you had to see my filthy house. I hate unpacking after an out-of-towner. It takes me three days to pull my house back together.

It looks like you guys had so much fun. We have the same rule in our family too. Madi sees the kids outside playing on Sunday and want's to run out and join them. I'll have to let her be more involved in cooking I'm sure she'd love it.
Hey send me your e-mail address so I can send you an invite to our blog.

Thanks for the yummy cookies! You know I was kidding (mostly) hehe. Gary and I always have this disagreement that there is always some truth behind sarcasm. He says ther isn't, I say say there is. I'm glad you saw the truth behind it.
