Weekly exploring-

I'm sad that I didn't do anything noteworthy this whole week, but it's only fun to blog things that I'm excited about...my life was pretty boring last week. It was actually the first time I experienced the quiet life with both kids at school. Talk about boring...I've got to get more creative! I spent the whole 4 hours of free-time cleaning their rooms! Why? I dunno, cause it already needs to be done again! And then I just cooked on Wednesday for food group, it was nice though to get that done without worrying where the kids were. So, today's need for exploration took us about 15 minutes from our house to a place up Dry Fork Canyon called McConkie Ranch. I heard once there were some really cool petroglyphs in Vernal, so I looked it up on the internet to see if it was worth taking a look at. I was totally impressed too, and the kids loved it! The hike was steep- a lot of rocks, and in some parts, Ali had to hold on to the wire to get up and down some of the more scary parts. It was worth it though, and hopefully you will think so too when you check out all these pictures! This first one is probably what makes it the most "famous." They call him "big foot," for obvious reasons, but the sign below posed a question, "could these be head-hunters?" If you click on it and look at it enlarged, you can see the severed heads in the hands of some of the others... hmmmm.

Love, love, love it Steph! There is a little desert rat in you after all!!! I knew it. Cool petroglyphs. I'll bet there are a lot more around your area possibly some that have not been found yet! Let's go exploring for a day...Sounds like a good way to spend a Thursday if you ask me!

Dinosaur Monument has a bunch too and the road is paved. Me and Justin have talked about taking the kids and going for a bike ride to find petroglyphs.
