Halloween in a nutshell

It was a busy week! But we had a lot of fun! Gage and Ali picked out their own costumes this year...unfortunately the days of the cute fleece Old Navy or Childrens Place costumes are over...but they looked great and had fun. We went to our ward carnival at the church where the kids got to play all kinds of games for candy, fish for prizes and dip apples. They were most looking forward to getting dressed up though, and we had fun getting them ready.

The day before Halloween we carved our pumpkins. I know you have to do it, but I HATE it. I can't just do an easy one either, I always have to try the hardest one, and if it isn't perfect, I hate it more! They turned out great though, the kids did great! Even though Gage did his upside-down- he just took the top off and set it on the porch head down!

Halloween was a long day for mommy. I didn't have to work for the first time in a while on Halloween, and I paid dearly! The first thing out of the kids mouths was..."can we go trick-or-treating yet?" And so it was ALL DAY LONG. We tried to do some of the fun things the city does for us, but they were incredibly crazy! The line to get into the Mayors Walk at the rec center was around the building, through the parking lot and into the vacant field behind it! Needless to say, we didn't attempt it. We went instead to Smiths, where the local radio station was giving out very LARGE handfuls of candy at a time! We still had to wait in line, but it wasn't so bad!

I LOVE their costumes!!! You went all out as usual. Next year maybe you should just work!

The kids look great! You don't have to carve pumpkins if you wait until the day before Halloween to buy your pumpkins and then can't find any. We ended up making carmel apples and watching a movie instead. I'm glad you had a good Halloween.
