My Work...

I'm working today. Yep, I'm at work, blogging. I've been running around like a crazy person all day and decided it was time for a little break. I love my job.  I am so grateful that I'm able to work part-time.  I've been blessed with such a great job that working part-time I still make the money most people would make full-time. I've been doing this for about 10 years now and I still really like it!  I love design, I love seeing the new furniture, and I don't mind working with customers- most of the time.  I feel like I'm a better mom when I get to be home with my kids, I don't take that time I have with them for granted, and if I'm going to spend time away from them, I'm going to do the best I can to make the time worth it.  I've gone through spells of feeling guilty- feeling like I should be home with my kids all the time, and I know I would love that too, but things are the way they are, and making the best of a situation is the only way to get through it!  Here's a visual of some of the people I have to deal with when I'm at work, my co-workers.  The first is Jared.  He and I are the only straight commission paid people at Western Living.  Needless to say, we get a little competitive, but even in the heat of the battle, we still get along really well.
Ok, so Monica has been my friend a lot longer than she's been a co-worker, but we worked together today, so she's in this post!

"The Boss Man"
We've been working on a "Tree's for Charity" Christmas tree this year for a family in town that lost their husband/father in an accident about 6 months ago.  He was a BIA cop and left behind a wife and 2 little kids.  I can't imagine trying to get through Christmas without my husband, hopefully some money will ease the burden.  (BIA is Bureau of Indian Affairs)  It's been so fun, and we wanted to raise as much money as we could, so we came up with this:
We figured there's got to be someone around here who would bid on an "elk" tree, right?  I have to admit, I love it!  Maybe not in my own house, but I'm not saying I wouldn't either!   I think we're all thrilled with the way it turned out... what do you think?

Cute post Stephanie...I love seeing all the people that you work with...well some of them anyway! I think that maybe I will do the same thing one of these days since I am there more than I am anywhere else.

Haha, I love the elk tree! I am sure there will be someone who will get to take it home!
