These Two...

It's seriously hard to get a picture of them together.  They are in a stage where they aren't each others favorite person!  But regardless of their relationship, I am so grateful for these two in my life.  I couldn't ask for better kids, they keep me entertained, busy, slightly on edge and incredibly happy.

Before Gage was born, I had two miscarriages.  It's hard not to be pessimistic when you want something so badly and it doesn't work your way.  Most people who know me well enough, know that I don't "not" get my way very often!  I don't give up when I want something bad enough, and luckily, the third time was a charm.  Gage was born March 30, 2002 at 5:42pm after 19 hours of long labor and weighed 8lbs. 2 oz.  He's been my favorite "little man" for more than 8 years now.

When Gage was 10 1/2 months old, I found out I was pregnant.  I cried.  I was excited to be having another baby, but didn't feel like I was ready so soon!  It was SO HARD to get Gage here!  I had NO IDEA it would be so easy to get another one!  Ali was born 18 months after Gage, on September 18th, 2003.  She scared us when she was born...all 9 lbs. 1 oz. of her!  She had gotten stuck in the birth canal and quit breathing.  She came out purple and floppy, and didn't cry for what seems like forever.  I've never been so scared in all my life- not only was I completely out of it, (having reacted to the epidural in a not-so-good way myself) but knowing something was wrong with my baby is as low as I've ever been.  Going from that, to holding my own beautiful little girl was the biggest roller-coaster of my life.  I'm so thankful it turned out the way it did- I love that little turkey!

Like I said before, we stay busy with these two kids, but life would be so boring without them!  I love their stories, Ali's antics and mischievousness- (AFTER it's been dealt with) and Gage's incredible creativity.  I hope they always want to be around- and even though I may not be their favorite person for much longer, I'm taking all I can get of it now!  I love your guts guys!  I'm so grateful for you!

It seems like yesterday that I was making the late night run to Vernal for the arrival of those little ones and now they are so big! I think that you will always be their favorite...;)
