Disbelief and devastion...

I have to vent. I can't help it, and I know some of you will know about whom I am venting... but I am livid and festering right now, and I know I will feel much better after getting this off my chest and into cyber-space! We suffered a loss today- an unnecessary loss and needless to say I am still fuming.

So, yesterday my daughter falls in love with a stray kitten. She asks everyone in the neighborhood if it is theirs or if they know who it belongs to. They all tell her no, right? Well, evidently today someone changed their mind- AFTER I told my daughter she could keep it. Come on! We did what we were supposed to do, right? But it's worse... this particular person sends her daughter over to my house where the kitten is content to play and be part of the family. The daughter then asks if she could take the kitten and show it to her Grandma... when my daughter went to get it back, the mother told Ali she would have to wait till later to see the kitty... Ali proceeds to sit on the doorstep of the neighbors house- and she NEVER COMES BACK OUT... the cute little daughter left with her grandma- my poor kitten is trapped in the house with a yappy dog, the dog that ATE my old kitty, and a mean mom who would let my poor Ali wait all day on her doorstep, and never let her see her darling kitten again. Yesterday my husband tried to get this neighbor to take the cat- he really didn't want it- but she said she didn't want a cat- what the heck? I should go tell her it's mine, to replace the one her dog ate! Don't you think? It's not even about the cat though, frankly, I'm relieved. I'll take Ali to pick one out that isn't a long hair! But the whole situation was AWFUL. There may be a good explanation for it all, but right now I feel horrible. I wish I had the guts to go talk to her about it, but I don't. I'd be the mean mom taking the kitten from her little girl in that case. But what an awful way to handle the whole thing. Couldn't she have just come to me and told me that she had decided to give the kitty a home? We had the cat inside our house when her daughter came by! Holy crap. Can you believe this?

I am sooo sorry. The whole thing makes me sick. Who does she think she is? I am still in disbelief that she couldn't just come and talk to you about it in the first place. Give me a break! How old is she anyway? What message is she sending her daughter? Can she possibly think this whole thing will just blow over? I am so mad and it doesn't even involve me. I don't even like cats but geeeeez.

That sounds really frustrating. What a weird neighbor. who lets a kid sit out on the porch and never even comes back to explain or even come over and explain to you? Sorry, I understand why you were so upset.
