A White Christmas after all...

What a fun Christmas! I hope everyone was as fortunate as us this year! We may have done less than last year, but there was no lack of excitement for all the wonderful things Santa brought, and even for all the clothes mom got the kids. Gage and Ali were so excited, but let us sleep until 7:30. I needed the sleep since I had the last minute stuff to do until late the night before. I was so lucky to get everything done, I felt so unorganized this year! But things went well anyway. The only bad part was the weather. Despite the beautiful white Christmas, we weren't able to go to Springville to visit my family because of it. Chicken? Maybe, but we've traveled a few times in the storms of Christmas's past- and I wasn't about to risk it with the kids in the car! We'll just have to spend the weekend there instead! Watch out Grandma and Grandpa- here we come! We spent Christmas eve at Grandma Anah's house for the traditional dutch dinner we always look forward to. I have no idea how to spell it, but you pronounce it ponnekook- it's just a type of crepe, but it's made with yeast, and it tastes amazing! We put butter and brown sugar on it- we love it- but we reserve it for Christmas eve, so it's a long awaited treat! We spent Christmas morning watching our spoiled, but darling children open their presents. They were unstoppable! I could barely keep up with the picture taking! Gage got a digital camera that does video, so he can use his own for his entertainment, instead of mine. He also got a nerf gun (his father has taken that over though...) and a skateboard with an actual letter from Santa- telling him that if he got good enough on the skateboard, he could get a rip-stick for his birthday. He didn't seem disappointed! Ali got a "Dress up doll," and a dog with earrings, shoes and a dress... she's such a girl! She was thrilled when she opened her new clothes too! I love it! Santa also brought her more earrings and a jewelry box to keep them all in. Santa brought me a KITCHEN AID MIXER! I know a lot of people might be thinking that it's not the best gift, but I am THRILLED! I've always used the one Jon had from before we got married, and I think he got it from someone else, and it was OLD!!!! I love to bake, and I have made due for a LONG time without a really nice mixer, and now I have the cream of the crop! Thank you honey!!! - Oh, I mean Santa!!!
Jon also gave me Guitar Hero for the Wii, and we got the Star Wars Light Saber wars- it's pretty fun. Who knew how many games there were for that thing! We thought the Sports game that came with it was enough, but these new ones are great! Jon got a Play Station 3- almost. It's a work in progress- and not a good enough story to explain, but he is spoiled anyway. He told me not to get it for him, but I couldn't think of anything he would want more! He's worth it though.

After breakfast we HIT THE SLOPES! We went sledding at the golf course here in Vernal. The kids had so much fun! I had so much fun! Jon and I went sledding too- perfect snow, perfect weather and fun company made it a great day!

What a blast! I think a kitchen aid is a great Christmas gift. I got mine for Christmas 5 years ago. I felt a little crazy this year too, but things have a way of turning out just fine, even when we do our best to mess them up;}
