Happy Fathers Day!

I am horrible at holidays. I never remember till the last minute, or till it's too late to do anything about it. I am so busy thinking about the things I should do, that doing them never gets done! It drives me crazy and is one of my biggest pet peeves about myself. Jon has been wanting an ottoman for our front room for ages now, and I thought it would be a great thing to get him for fathers day. Needless to say, it didn't come in when it was supposed to- and I didn't have anything else for him today. I know it's not really about that, but seriously, when am I going to figure it out? We did make him breakfast in bed, and the kids wrote on a card for him. I don't know what he's thinking, but I'm sure he's disappointed, even if he wouldn't say it! Maybe to make up for it a little I can tell you all what an awesome dad he is. He'd choose family and his children over anyone else any day of the week. The reason why he and I don't do much on our own is cause he would so much rather have the kids with us wherever we go. I love him for that. I remember how excited he was to become a daddy. We had a hard time getting pregnant, and after the second miscarriage, he laid on the bed with me and cried. The only other time I've seen him cry was when Gage was born. He was so excited to raise a son, and the emotions got the best of him. Ever since, he's been an exceptional father and a great husband! I love his support in raising our kids, he really does have a way of bringing me down to earth and settling me down when I get upset with the kids... I usually end up laughing at myself or the situation. I love you Jon, you are a great father!

There are other fathers in our lives that we are extremely grateful for too. My dad is such an important part of my life, and I don't know where I'd be without him. I may not have been easy at times, but to toot my horn and his, I turned out pretty good. He is a great example of not taking things so seriously- and he always makes me laugh. Anyone who knows him would agree- he's the guy you want to have around- the life of the party! He and my mom had 5 kids, all of us were married in the temple, all three of my brothers served missions. How do you do that? I love my dad so much- I love the grandpa he is to my kids.

And of course, Jon's dad Duane. We don't get to see him a lot, but when we do I understand Jon so much more! A lot of the things I have learned to love about Jon came from his dad. He is such a hard worker, and puts passion into everything he does. He has a strong testimony of the gospel, and is a loving husband to his wife. Not to mention his love for our kids! I think he enjoys being a grandfather much more than he did being a father, but most grandpa's would tell you the same thing. The kids can't wait to go back to the beach to visit him again... and I don't think it's just cause of the candy store!

I'm so grateful for the men in my life. I love each of them so much and I want them to know that I wouldn't imagine life without them. Happy Fathers Day!
