Day 10- The Music I Listen to When...

It's no secret that I have a love for music.  I have developed a passion for the music I listen to, and am very much a product of it.  It decides my state of mind at times, calms it other times, fire me up when I need it too- and even sparks creativity.  Where some people thrive in silence,  there aren't too many quiet moments in my life that I wouldn't choose to fill with music.  I've listened to so many different genre's, it would be hard for me to pick a favorite, and if asked, I'd probably answer, "Whatever I'm listening to!"

Recently, I switched my station in the car to country music.  Up until now, it was one of my least favorite things to listen to.  It didn't take much to change my mind, but nothing says "change the station" like a four year old singing "I like your laffy-taffy."  (and that was the nicest part of that song...)  I love the way music sounds and had never paid attention to the words...realizing too late that they weren't what I should be listening to.  I'm pretty comfortable with the fact that for the most part, my kids can sing along to a country song and it isn't explicit!  But more importantly for me...I can SING along with the songs!  Country singers are so talented!  And the songs make me cry- I hear the words and they can really tug at your heart strings!

I love all kinds of music-
When I'm happy I listen to anything with a happy beat, mostly country- Jack Johnson, Micheal Buble, I love the Rhythm of Love song by Plain White T's!  It MAKES me happy!

When I'm sad- I listen to quiet music.  Nora Jones, Sarah McLachlan, Esperanza.  I love to hear the jazzy beats- they make me feel better.

Bored and  anxious go hand in hand for me- boredom makes me anxious!  I get nervous driving too.  I listen to country or anything to get my mind off of what I'm doing.

When I am mad- I don't listen to anything.  I just listen to the ringing in my head.

Hehe, Hallie says that country music is her favorite because it tells stories....about puppies and pick up trucks!
Kids really do listen!

ME TOO- Michael Buble makes me happy, Jack Johnson makes me smile and Norah Jones is so comforting.

what would we do without music in our lives- I think I would have had a mental break down without it...

or maybe I already have had one and the music is keeping me from falling apart... who knows.

Hummmm, not one word about David Lanz or Jim Brickman, Kevin Kerns or Yanni...SOooo disappointed! Thought for sure that the piano music that you grew up on would have some how found a way into your everyday existence by now. Just remember when I am gone that is what you are going to want to listen to. I just know it!
