Pyrotechnics and Camping...

So, Gage got the idea to build a smoke bomb.  Where, you ask?  You Tube of course!  And where was I, you ask?  At work of course!!  And who was supposed to be in charge?  Who, you ask?

Well, the smoke bomb thing didn't work, so instead, he decided to use the LIGHTER he'd taken from the house and burn some old foam that was (luckily) on a pile of cement out in the (very dry) field by our house- as well as several other homes...  when he tried to "blow it out" though, I think you can use your powers of deduction for the rest.  We were so lucky nothing else burned, but being that this area was once all the neighborhood boys "fort," I can tell you, Gage was in deep deep you-know-what before we even got to him!
Luckily he was forgiven pretty quickly- but remnants will always be around to remind him of the seriously STUPID thing he did.

We finally got the chance to do some camping, but it didn't go exactly as planned.  Sure, we had fun- but I forgot the camp chairs, so we weren't very comfortable, and I was freezing through the night- it's amazing how cold it gets in the mountains at night- but it warmed up really quick the next morning!  My allergies decided to make themselves known as well- so I was fighting the runny nose, itchy eye and sneezing!  Curse allergies!  It was so beautiful though.  Our campsite looked out onto the lake- (East Park for all those wondering.)
Gage came across a horseshoe while riding his dirtbike, he thought that was pretty cool and hasn't let it out of his sight since.
Ali was bored enough to let me take pictures of her...we had fun- she's a great model!

Gage got in a little trouble for driving too fast through the campground.  I don't think he was really speeding though, his little bike is just so loud, he was probably bugging the other campers- people need to relax a bit, it wasn't like he was out late at night or even early in the morning... fun-haters.

We actually ran into our long lost friends the Taylors while we were there too!  These kids have grown up together, we used to chase them around in their diapers!  Misty and I used to watch each others kids when we worked, and since they moved just across town, we never see them anymore!  The kids picked up right where they left off though- best buddies after all this time.  Jackson and Gage, Easton and Ali- and Brinlee and ME!

I think Jon looks SO good on a motorcycle!  Oh dang!

I love spending time with my family.  I've never had a busier summer in my life!  So even if it was just for one night, I'm glad we were able to spend some time together.  Happy Summer everyone!  Take advantage of it while you can!

It looks like so much fun! I am not sure that after 11 years of the cabin I could go back to camping but, I could give it a try especially when I look at the beautiful pictures. I am glad that you are making some great memories with your family. Love it!

I read your blog to prepare myself for childhood, we are in infant and toddlerhood, so I need my eyes opened to what is in store for me. I love it. True, he is such a boy, but that's what its all about right!? Good to see you a couple weeks ago! Ciao
