Our Sunday "Stroll"

If you click on the photo above, you can read about it. There is a lot of history round these parts!
The trail follows a river bed, and the rocks in it are amazing! I was impressed by the size of the riverbed too, if there is water that goes down it part of the year, it must be a lot!

Too bad you can't see the riverbed behind us in this picture, but improvising is a must when you have to use the automatic timer!
Look Mom! A bike trail! Jon told me to take a picture of the guys that passed us on their bikes, but they weren't exactly graceful, so I was worried they'd think I was making fun of them... so their tracks will have to be proof enough.

This trail was beautiful! I love being in the mountains and even though this trail was less than 100 feet from the road, you felt like you were in the middle of nowhere. The drawback? Not really a destination hike...more like the scenic route. Jon and I don't mind the scenic kind, but it was a little anti-climactic for the kids! We did see horses, bikers, photographers and families getting their pictures taken though, it wasn't as quiet a trail as the arch was! This new ritual of ours sure helps Sundays go by a lot faster! When you go to church at 9, there is a whole days worth of trying to entertain children! We are going to make outdoorsmen of them, whether they want to be or not!
